As a technology school, The Academy Charter High School will have an environment and curriculum enhanced with technology. Technology instruction will be project-based and develop our scholars to be world-class competitive scholars.
Scholars will be exposed to a variety of experiences around post-secondary education and jobs in the real-world through activities such as college visits, field experience assignments and mentorship programs.
A STEM based elective offered to interested scholars who maintain a B average (or above). Scholars who successfully complete the program will receive an Academy Honors Diploma at their graduation.
High achieving scholars have the opportunity to earn college scholarship funds based on their consistent performance throughout their TACHS career.
Prior to the start of each school year, scholars will be invited for a week of on-boarding. Activities include team building, college visits, visits to technological institutions, and student orientation.
As part of scholars’ college and career preparation process, TACHS scholars will be allowed a relaxed dress code as opposed to a specific school uniform. Additionally, scholars will have a formal uniform to wear during formal assemblies, ceremonies, and other special occasions.
The Academy Charter High School believes in having diverse opportunities for students to demonstrate their abilities and grow in their talents. Scholars will have the ability to participate in various after-school extra-curricular activities and sports programs including chess, drama, swimming, basketball, and volleyball.
Every scholar will be a member of an Academy House for the duration of their studies at the Academy. Their house leader (Academy staff member) will guide them, and 11-13 of their peers, through the academic and socio-emotional learning experiences they go through at their time at the Academy.
The brand new, 5-Floor glass building allows for high levels of natural lighting throughout the building containing an indoor track, half-size Olympic pool and an state of the art technology lab.
